Applications​ ​Instructions (DEADLINE HAS PASSED)

 

1. Access the Application​ ​Form​ and fill in the required fields.

 

2. Please note that all mandatory fields in the application form, in particular the ones corresponding to “Name”, “Paper tittle”, “Priority topics”, must be filled in correctly in order to avoid further problems with the evaluation and issuance of certificates.

 

3. Attention​ ​to​ ​deadlines:

  • Submission of proposals for “Paper” and “Poster”: Oct. 23, 2017 – Jan. 7, 2018

  • Deadline for responses and submission acceptance letters: Feb. 5, 2018

  • Deadline for payment of registration in the modalities “Paper” and “Poster”: Mar. 16, 2018

  • Full text transmission: Apr. 30, 2018

  • Registration and payment for “Listener”: May. 10, 2018 or while there are vacancies.

 

4. After the letters of acceptance have been issued, the payment of participants' enrollment in “Paper” and “Poster” modalities must be done by Mar. 16, 2018, by deposit or bank transfer to:

5. Participants coming from other countries, we suggest that you make the payment through the Transferwise service, using the same data informed in item 4 (previous); or request the payment authorization during the accreditation.

 

6. The registration fees for each modality are in accordance with the following table:

7. It is mandatory to send a copy of the proof of deposit or bank transfer to the email: posabolicao2@gmail.com, indicating in the subject of the message “Proof of payment”.

Short​ ​curriculum​ ​guidelines

 

1. The short curriculum must have a maximum of eight lines containing the following mandatory information: last title, institutional affiliation, research funding agency (where available), area or research group in which perform, indication of up to two prominent publications and electronic address for correspondence (E-mail).

 

Extended​ ​abstract​ ​guidelines

 

1. To be registered in a specific place of the registration form, the expanded abstract must have a minimum of 3 thousand and a maximum of 5 thousand characters with space.

2. The abstract must be accompanied by up to five keywords.

3. It is mandatory to indicate two axes, in order of priority, with which the working proposal dialogues, namely:

 

I. Memory and Public History of slavery and freedom;

II. Racism and anti-racism in historical perspective;

III. Intellectualities and black activism;

IV. Trajectories and practices of sociability: race, class, gender and sexualities;

V. Historiographical balance of post-abolition;

VI. Public reparation policies for Atlantic slavery;

VII. Re-education of ethnic-racial relations.

Full​ ​Text​ ​Guidelines

 

1. The full text must have a minimum of ten and a maximum of 15 pages, including bibliographical references, written in Times New Roman font; size 12; line spacing 1,5; title capitalized and centralized; name of the author: below the title aligned to the right; summary curriculum and e-mail indication in footnote associated with the name of the author; margins of 2.5cm / 2cm / 2.5cm / 2cm.

 

2. Bibliographical references should be presented in footnotes, in size 10, single space, observing the following basic rules:

Book​: a) Name of the author. b) Title of the work (in italics). c) Edition number (if not the first). d) Place of publication: e) Name of publisher, f) Year of publication, g) Number of pages.. Ex.​: ¹ Bóris Fausto. História do Brasil. São Paulo: Edusp, 1994, pp. 20-22.

 

For Article​: a) Name of the author. b) Title of the article (in quotation marks). c) Name of the journal (in italics), d) Volume and / or number of the periodical, e) Place of publication, f) Year of publication, g) Number of pages. Ex.​: ² Rachel Soihet. “O drama da conquista na festa: reflexões sobre resistência indígena e circularidade cultural”. Estudos Históricos, v. 5, n. 9, Rio de Janeiro, 1992, pp. 44-59.

 

3. Citations: ​citations of up to three (3) lines must be enclosed in quotation marks in the body of the text. Citations with more than three (3) lines should be highlighted in size 11, single space, without quotes, with a left indentation of 2.5 cm, followed by the appropriate footnotes.

 

4. The full texts will be shared between registered participants ten days in advance in order to favor the density and richness of dialogues and debates. Sending the complete texts is also essential so that everyone can participate in the selection for the subsequent publication of a book from the Seminar.
